On the 21^st of November, the Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School organised a project in their school, called PBS workshop. At 8am, the interactors arrived at school and began preparing for the day ahead. When we were finished preparing, two of our interactors went to Pusat Bantuan Sentul to fetch the children. At 8.30am, they returned and the children were registered and separated into three groups.

After the registration, the children and the Interactors were gathered at the basketball court for an opening ceremony, conducted by Int. Pravin and Int. Tze Ying.

The first session of the workshop was an educational session. Each group went to a different station and they rotated around the stations so everyone got a chance at everything. The children were very interested in the activities and paid their full attention to what the interactors were instructing. The three subjects taught were Mathematics, Science and History.

After the educational session ended, it was followed by a short break and continued with a personal hygiene session. During the hygiene session, the children learned new things they didn’t know such as the spreading of bacteria and how to wash your hands properly.

The hygiene session was followed by another break and the Interactors prepared for the final session, which was the living skills session. In this session, the children were taught, basic survival skills, such as self-defence, how to cross a road, how to perform CPR, how to pick up an injured person, and how to extinguish.

The last session of the day was the Living Skills session. After that,a light lunch was served.

At the end of the day, all more objectives of the project and more were achieved. The day ended with smiles on both parties and a brighter hope for the children of today.

30 Hour Famine 2011

From the 30th July 2011 to the 31st July 2011, the Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School organized a communityservice project entitled the 30-hour famine. The event started at 10.00a.m. on the 30th of July.We started with an opening ceremony by our own principal, Madam Chia, at the ping pong area.Our heartiest thanks go out to Madam Chia for making her time to officiate the event. She congratulated all the participants who had decided to take the challenge to fast for 30 hours non-stop.After the event had been officiated,the activities begun!

We had a World Vision representative, Ms Elaine, who gave us a talk about the theme ‘Child Health Crisis’.She showed us a videoclip from the Famine Media Visit to Mae Sariang,Thailand. She also introduced us to World Vision and what the organization is doing and planning to do in the future.

After that, we went down to the assembly ground and had our ice-breaking session. All participants and lined up randomly. As we started the game, each person had to find their own name tags with their names and group names printed.

We then had a ‘Simon Says’ game where everyone had to follow instructions. After that, each group came up with a war cry and we had a game involving the use of war cry and ‘bombing’ the other groups.After that, we headed back to chapel for another talk by Ms Elaine more about 30-hour famine. During the talk, there was an interactive session where participants shared some of their ideas about a story given.

Then, our station games started. There were 10 station games all together. All of them tested our teamwork and cooperation.

After that, we were given some free and easy time. Then, we had a sketch game where each group would have to think of creative and practical ideas to escape from a quicksand using only 3 pocket-sized items. Some of the groups are hilarious with crazy ideas but not practical. However, every one of them did very well.Then, we had a short game called the ‘Limited Senses Game’ where each group had to line up according to their height, birthdays and other criteria without the sense of talking and seeing respectively. Next up, we have a game called ‘Completing the Tasks’ in which we have only 30 seconds to complete all the tasks written on the screen.

The last activity of the day was the war game.All participants were gathered at the chapel and were told that they’re going to watch a movie. However, when the movie was starting, a war siren was started which indicated the beginning of the game. Each group received an envelope and they had to go through 7 phases of hard challenges to reach the refuge area which was outside the school office. The war siren was put off at times and that was when the ‘guards’ started to catch people and put them into ‘torture rooms’. Scary music was put on throughout the game to bring up the atmosphere. Lights out was at 11p.m.

The next day,we woke up bright at early at 7 a.m. ' Not Having It All' was the first game of the day.Participants had to go through some sort of ‘ maze’ where the appointed ‘mother’ of each group had decisions to make. Each decision made would end them up in different situations. Through this game, participants would learn and experience how the poor mothers have to make hard decisions.

Next, we had a short break followed by a life game called ‘Alive At 5’. In this game, each group represented a country and they had to ‘work’ for money to stay ‘alive’ throughout the game. Participants would learn how the poor sustain their family and how hard is it to protect and raise a child to 5 years old.

Later, it was movie time. We watched 'The Kite Runner'. At 3:55, participants were gathered at the canteen, waiting in anticipation for the clock to strike 4. Finally, the moment that all of us had been waiting for arrived. 10…9…8…7…6...5…4…3…2…1! And everyone cheered and clapped joyfully. Everyone started digging into the food. After this, participants started cleaning up.

All in all, this year's 30 Hour Famine was a great experience. I am sure the participants learnt many new things and also learnt how to appreciate the simple things in life. A BIG THANK YOU to the committee for organising such a fantastic event!

Installation 2011

The Interact club of WMS held its 37th annual installation on 24th August 2011. At 2.30, the Interactors got ready at the school chapel. At 3.30, guests and Interactors from other schools arrived. This event was attended by Rotarian Andy Khoo, Rotarian Hardeep Singh,Rotarian Ajmal Khan and Rotarian Louis Paul.

The event started off with an opening ceremony where the outgoing Interactors held a burning candle and the incoming Interactors held an unlit candle. The outgoing Interactors then lit the candles of the incoming Interactors. This symbolised the passing on of light,so the Interactors can make the world a better place.This is also because the theme for the Interact Club of WMS for 2011/2012 is 'Lighting Lives'.This was followed by the singing of the Negaraku and the Interact song.After that,there were speeches by the Principal,the Rotary President,Rotarian Andy Khoo and by the outgoing Interact President, Int. Yeoh Kai Yuan.

Then,we appreciated the Form 5 Interactors by presenting them with certificates. Certificates were also given out to Caring Interactors.Then,the Installation of the Form 4 Interactors and the incoming BOD began.

Kids Carnival 2011

On the 16th of July 2011, Wesley Methodist Interact Club held its annual Kids Carnival. The objective of the carnival is so that children from less fortunate backgrounds can have a fun-filled day with the Interactors, while interacting with other kids and learning new skills. The kids from Pusat Bantuan Sentul,Praise Emmanuel Children's Home,Ti Ratana Welfare Society and Precious Children's Home were present.

When the kids arrived,we tried to make them feel as welcome as possible. The kids had to register themselves and they were divided into six groups,Pokemon,Phineas & Ferb,Mr. Bean, Dora the Explorer,Popeye and the ever famous Malaysian cartoon- Upin & Ipin. The carnival was officially started when Interactors opened colourful poppers from the 3rd floor. Of course,kids being kids, were delighted at the array of colours.

Then, there was a magic show. The magician showed the kids a few tricks, but the funny thing is, the kids figured it out before the trick was over. After that, the Ice Breakers started. The children started to get excited when ' The Chicken Dance' started playing. Since everyone knew the actions, the children had fun dancing to the song.

After the Ice Breakers, the children headed to the half Basketball Court for a creative session. In this session, dough is layed out for the children and they are provided with rollers and various toppings such as chocolate spreads,sausages,tomato sauce,sprinkles and chocolate chips. The kids were allowed to let their creativity run wild as they made their own customised puffs. Some even tried mixing chocolate spread with sausages and tomato sauce..how exotic :D

After the creative session, the kids got to play more games. The games included Musical Chairs, Freeze Dancing,Balloon On The Leg and The Newspaper Game. The kids got really into the games and they managed to work up an appetite,so lunch was next on the program.

When the kids were done eating, prizes were given to the winners of the games. Prizes were also given to the best participants. Hampers were given to all six groups, so even those who didn't win anything had something to enjoy. The kids also got one souvenir each,consisting of bubbles,sweets and a customised 'Kids Carnival 11' bookmark. Each child was also allowed to choose one soft toy to take back home. All in all, it was a great day. The kids left with smiles plastered on their faces and soft toys in their arms.

When the kids left, the Interactors stayed back to clean the school up. We had to pick up rubbish from the assembly ground and the canteen and soon enough, it was as clean as before. After that, as is tradition, the Board of Directors 2010/2011 decided to play a little trick on us. As we were taking our Form 4 Interactors group picture, they poured buckets of water on us. Soon, everybody was running around the assembly ground trying to hide for cover but no one was spared and everybody was soaking wet- including the BOD 2010/2011.

It was definetely a day to remember and although there were some minor hiccups,the kids had a great time-and that was the main objective

IU Day 2011

We promised you something huge, massive, mind-blowing, and what would be THE MOST AMAZING EVENT OF THE YEAR. I strongly feel, the Interact Club of WMS, after months of brainstorming and hard work, have achieved the ultimate goal of creating the Best IU day in WMS history. It all started on the 29th April 2011...

A monster burst into view, it was none other than the notorious, most-feared-of, terrible Loch Ness Monster, otherwise known as Nessie.

Nessie cornered a poor little girl. Just as we thought all hope was lost...

3 brave Scottish warriors saved the day and defeated the monster. And as you may have guessed, the theme of WMS International Understanding Day 2011 is the beautiful country of Scotland, We Scot' the Power!

After our emcees appeared in the most dramatic way, pur Guest of Honour, Mr. James Smith gave us a wonderful insight about Scotland, complete with facts and Scottish jokes, but he was not the only one who shared his knowledge about Scotland. Our Interact Club presented to you our very own Info Boy!

Later, a few of our Interactors showed our own version of how the Kilt came about and why people wear them. Humorous and witty... the sketch.

Then, we had the most anticipated dance. It told the story of how the Loch Ness Monster, Nessie, came about. And it successfully blew people's minds.

What's an IU day without the thoughts from the man behind the whole event. Our beloved IU director, Chan Jun Shern, gave us more than just a speech, he even performed a song for us. For without him, we could not have made this happen. Thanks to the assistant IU director as well, Brenda Yew :)

And to sum up what was a dessert to the lunch, we had the a performance from the St. John's bagpipe band, and all the Interactors paraded down the isle for the finale.

Thank you all the Interactors who made this event such a huge success and all those who attended and supported our event. We Scot' the Power!!

There is something big coming up. Something huge. Massive, to say the least.

Newsflash: The Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School are preparing to pull off one of the most amazing events ever seen.

Yes, folks. It is time now. Time for...

IU Day.

As you may have guessed from the picture above, this year's IU Day will be featuring the beautiful country of Scotland.

Why Scotland, you ask?

Well, Scotland is actually an IU Director's dream come true. You might not know very much about it now, but I assure you that there are many exciting sides to Scotland which most have simply never taken the time to appreciate.

I quote from the description on our Facebook event page,

Hilarious sketches. Breathtaking dances. Jaw-dropping presentations. Epic displays of talent. Castles. Bagpipes. Crytozoological monsters. Warriors in kilts. Unicorns. Awesomeness.

Those are some of the things we have in store for you on the 29th of April. Feeling excited? I'll list out the details before elaborating further:

Our Theme: We ‘Scot The Power!
Because yes. We has got the power, if you would excuse our lapse in grammatical correctness.

When? Friday, the 29th of April 2011, 3:00pm – 6:00pm.
Do note that while registration begins at 3:00pm, the event is due to begin at 3:40pm with no delays. The main event ends at 6:00pm, after which all guests are invited to the canteen for a taste of some scrumptious Scottish cuisine.

Where? School Hall of Wesley Methodist School, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur.
Our school is also easily accessible via public transport. Simply take the LRT to the Sentul station right next to the school, and there will be ushers to escort you into the school from there.

I don't usually like to brag, but I can say this much. This year, IU Day will be one-(insert suitable powerful word which is not profane)-of an event.

Well, we WMS Interactors may not know how to blow bagpipes, but we do promise to blow your minds.

Cross Country 2011

Titiwangsa Park...

Yes, our Interact Club held the annual Cross Country for 2011 except this time instead of the usual Lake Gardens, we had it in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. This year's theme is 'Compassion in Motion, running for their lives'.

The event was aimed at helping those in need as well as serving the underprivileged, to instill the spirit of charity and social consciousness among our students, and to promote the spirit of good sportsmanship as well as friendship among participants. Proceeds and funds were collected and directed entirely to charity. Around 1100 people including teachers, students, and parents participated in the race which was held on a Saturday morning from 6.30 a.m. to 12.oop.m. Every student was given a donation card each in order to collect donations with a minimum donation of RM 35.

We managed to get various sponsors for the event. Food and refreshments were catered by our school canteen operator who prepared fried banana fritters, curry puffs and “kuih gulung”. V-soy Soya bean milk, F&N, myNEWS.com, Revive, Gardenia, Lotte Mart, Sunway SDN BHD, Mc Donalds, Carrefour and Nestle, were among the major sponsors for the event.

The guests on the day of the event consisted of Dato’ Dr. Tan Kee Hwong, the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Wesley Methodist School, Datuk A.R Peter, the past principal of Wesley Methodist School, Mrs. Matthews the immediate past school principal, Madam Chia Loy Tian, the school principal, Madam Pearl Moses, the vice principal; teachers, parents and students.

After the event was declared open, some basic warming up exercises were conducted by the Presidents of the Interact Club Yeoh Kai Yuan and Eric Soo Wai Lik. There were two routes. The first route was only about 4.4km and was for the under 15 student category, teachers, and parents. The other route was about 6.6km for the Under 18 category and past students of Wesley Methodist School. As the space was limited, and each round around the lake was 2.2km, the former categories ran twice about the lake and the latter three times.

The run began with the Under 15 and then the Under 18 Girls, followed by the boys, teachers, parents and ex students. The entire route was covered by Interactors stationed at intervals along the route. Small arrowed signs were also placed to direct the students along the right route. Each student was to obtain a coloured band upon completing each round to ensure that no one cheated.

The prizes were presented by our past principals Datuk A.R Peter and Mrs Matthews. The prizes included 2 Lenova Screens, 2 Samsung mp3s, 4 Justin Bieber concert tickets, 2 Apple iPod Nano 8GB, 4 GB Thumbdrives, 5 Sunway theme park tickets, computer mouse, keyboards, water bottles, a HP Printer, Custom Made Pens, Addidas deodorant, Body Shop set, cups, and a diary. The highest donor for the event was awarded a brand new computer screen and the other top donors with individual hampers. The highest supporting classes of each form on the other hand were also rewarded with hampers each.

Visit to the Soup Kitchen

On an early Saturday morning, at around 9.00 am 33 Form 5 Interactors set off to a Soup Kitchen in Jinjang. This visit is the WMS Interact Club's first community service trip for the year 2011. This is something new for all of us because none of us had been to a soup kitchen before.

We arrived at around 10.30 am. There we were split into groups to prepare the food and get the place set up.

There was the cutting of the onions, bags and bags of onions, which made every one doing that tear. Those who walked pass the area even for a moment left with teary eyes. :) Some others were chopping up the garlic, stirring and literally digging the rice out from a HUGE rice cooker to place into the container.

Oh, there were even Interactors who helped with the traffic...

and looking after the bicycles, making sure none are stolen.

Then at 11.00 am, we were all ready and people were anxiously waiting outside the building. Soon, they were all swarming in, and Interactors were there serving the food and interacting with them. Most of those who came were senior citizens, a few of the young ones too. These people actually come here as they cannot afford their meals. Some of them come just for the environment, where people are friendly and the atmosphere is lively.

People kept spilling in until around 1.30pm, after which the Interactors themselves took a break for lunch and talked with some of the folks there. Most of them could only speak mandarin and Cantonese or Hakka. Some of us had some trouble with communication, but we learnt a few words, and they were quite willing to tell us their life stories. Smiles were on their faces when they left.

Then of course, we stayed to clean up. Around 2.30pm, we left the place, bringing back with us an unforgettable experience and indescribable joy.

42nd DIC

42^nd District Interact Conference

On the 3^rd of December 2010, 9 of our Interactors gathered in school and headed off towards Seremban at 8.45am for the 42^nd District Interact Conference. The conference was hosted by the Rotary Club of Seremban. Lasting over 3 days, from 3^rd December to 5^th December, the event attracted over 820 Interactors from all over the peninsular of Malaysia.

Yeoh Kai Yuan, Eric Soo, Chan Jun Shern, Brenda Yew, Samantha Ng, Yip Mun Keat, Chan Wee De, Sarah Francis and Kimberly Anne represented our Interact Club in the conference. Being first-timers at such a huge event, we were clueless and expected things to go extremely formally.

At around 9.45am, we reached Royale Bintang Resort of Seremban, where the entire conference was held. After registration, we started mingling with Interactors from other schools. As more and more Interactors arrived, the first floor was filled with Interactors to the brim. We made our way to our rooms before going for lunch. After lunch, the first session was held in the Grand Ballroom at the first floor. The whole conference consisted of 14 sessions, one-hour each, and were all held in the same ballroom. There were roughly 90 tables in the ballroom with around 10 Interactors per table. Imagine controlling the noise level of so many people!

The conference had various talks on topics such as marine ecology, the Rotary International Youth Exchange, the Law of Attraction, perceptions of life, college education and using the social media beneficially. Many speakers drove all the down from KL to Seremban just to deliver their speeches.

The opening ceremony was conducted on the 2^nd day of the conference, with all Interactors donning the 42^nd District Conference shirt. District Governor Lim Kok Beng was invited to officiate the event. After that, there was a group photo for all 800 over Interactors in the ballroom.

The highlight of the entire event was the formal night on the 2^nd day, which consisted of a buffet dinner and various performances put up by Interact Clubs from various schools. The night started off with Interactors happily stuffing themselves with the sumptuous buffet spread. The performances include a joint YMCA dance by several schools, a sketch on the environment by the Global Indian International School, a Nobody dance by the Wonderboys from Perak, a few singing performances by various duos and groups, some really cool hiphop dancing.

In conjunction with the 2^nd day of the event was also the 81^st anniversary of the formation of the Rotary Club of Seremban. There was a cake-cutting ceremony by President Chiang Sooi Yee and several other distinguished Rotarians and VIPs.

The night ended with the dancefloor being opened to everyone to strut their stuff. Almost everyone in the ballroom rushed towards the stage and danced and partied their hearts out, accompanied by a selection of songs by the DJ.

Our very own I.U. Director Chan Jun Shern garnered a big round of cheers and applause from the raving crowd when he put up some electrifying spins on the stage as everyone lined-up to wait for their turn in the limelight. His awesome moves attracted many compliments from Interactors who witnessed him.

After that, the Rotarians called-off the event and everyone gradually made their way back to the rooms. The Interactors from KL had a group photo.

On the 3^rd day, we were given 3 more sessions before finally calling it a day. In the morning, we took all our luggage down to be stored in the Ampangan Room. All the Interactors were required to wear their respective uniforms for the closing ceremony at 11.30am. As part of the closing ceremony, there was a competition for choosing the best Interact Uniform. Each club was represented by one/two Interactors to go up on stage and present themselves to the judges. SMK Assunta emerged champions with their outstandingly classy uniform! Certificates were then presented to every Interactor. After lunch, we all made our journey home.

In a nutshell, the conference was very informative and served as a platform for Interactors from all over our country to mingle and get to know each other. We certainly made many many new friends as well as sweet memories of the conference.

PBS Workshop

On the 22^nd of November 2010, the Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School organized their second ever children’s workshop for the children of Pusat Bantuan Sentul. The workshop is aimed to further strengthen the relationship between members of the club and the children, as well as helping the children in making sellable items for the upcoming festive Christmas season as well as acquiring art and craft skills, useful in daily life. A short celebration with food and drinks was also held in conjunction with the World Children’s Day celebrated worldwide on the 20^th of November annually.

At 9.00 a.m, the children from PBS gathered in school and a brief registration was held whereby the children obtained sticker nametags and had some cupcakes and drinks for breakfast. Afterwhich, the children and interactors gathered at the assembly ground for two games as ice breakers. The first was “Blow Wind Blow”, all of us had a great time rushing from chair to chair. Next was the classic “Musical Chairs”. Slowly the finalists were narrowed down and it ended with a top 5 all male children!

After which the children were seated in the canteen for their first arts and crafts session. There were to make a reindeer wall hanging item out of paper plates and basic materials. The children did a fine job.

Then, the children, wrestles, had a short ten minute round of football. Thirsty and tired, the children had a break of juice cordial and fried mee hoon and nuggets. Then they settled down for their second arts and crafts session. The children were divided into three groups, each group to do bookmarks, pencil holders, and cards respectively in conjunction with the festive season. Interactors tended to each group, helping the children make their items.

At 12.30 pm, the children finished up their masterpieces and played another game, “ Pass The Parcel”. We had more than a few laughs at each other, doing the punishments written on the layers. Then we all had a scrumptious lunch of nasi lemak and pasta, with jelly for dessert.

After a quick round of football, the time soon came for the children to go home. After a group photo and distribution of party packs, we bid the children of PBS goodbye. Hoping that we had achieved our aim of making them happy and treating them to a day of fun with our company.

On the 22nd of October, the Interact Club held a carnival with the theme;

“Playhouse Wesley”

The carnival started from 8.30a.m and ended at 2.00p.m. On that day, the event was officiated by our principal, Mrs. Vimala Mathews and Madam Chia on the morning assembly. The students were sent back to their classes after the assembly so that they could change into their PE attire. The students were then gathered at the assembly ground again at 8.30a.m. The students were briefed by Victor Chan before being dismissed. There were a lot of games and activities in the carnival, namely Human Foosball, Dodgeball, Face Painting, Ball Toss, Dora the Explorer, House of Mouse, Hidden Mickey, Song Dedication and Movie at the Lecture Theatre.

There were a number of teams registered for Human Foosball at the Basketball court and Dodgeball at the Futsal court. Although there were only first and second place winners, everyone enjoyed playing the games. Besides that, there was a face-painting booth outside the canteen. A lot of students came by to get a painting on their face. There was also a game called Ball Toss at the Netball court. The person who scored the most points won a basketball. Besides that, there was a maze at the chapel named Dora the Explorer. Many people came to the maze and they had a lot of fun.

There was also the House of Mouse at the general science lab 1. The House of Mouse is a game where students are blind folded and are required to crawl around the lab to look for cheese. Next, there was a game called Hidden Mickey at the garden behind the canteen. A number of students who played also won some soft toys and sweets. There was also a song dedication booth outside the Physics lab. Students can choose songs to dedicate to their beloved friends. Last but not least, there was a movie screening at the lecture theatre. Many students came and enjoyed watching the movies.

At 1.45p.m, the carnival ended and students were gathered at the assembly ground. Then, we had our prize giving ceremony where winners for Human Foosball, Dodgeball, House of Mouse and Ball Toss were announced. Prizes were given out by Madam Chia. Both students and interactors had a day jam packed of fun and excitement.

Installation 2010

The Interact club of WMS held its 36th annual installation on 19th August 2010. At 2.30, the Interactors got ready at the school chapel. At 3.30, guests and Interactors from other schools arrived. This event was attended by Rotarian Hardeep Singh, Rotarian Tan Boon Leong, and Rotarian Andy Khoo.

The event started off with the singing of the Negaraku and the Interact song. This was followed by speeches by the Rotarians and the outgoing President, Low Zhi-Yang.

Then we appreciated the outgoing board and the form 5 Interactors.

and of course, the main purpose of our event, installing the form 4 Interactors.

The Outgoing BOD then presented the incoming BOD with gifts that will aid them with their jobs in the future.

The incoming President, Yeoh Kai Yuan then delivered his speech. And here, I want to wish a big THANK YOU to the form 5 Interactors for your service to the club for the year 2009 and 2010. Thank you to the BOD for your hard work and dedication. We will indeed miss you all. :'(

The event ended with some light refreshments in the canteen at 5.30.

Evolution Night

Change is nature, we all influence it in a part. Everything comes and goes, the world EVOLVES. Therefore, the interact club held EVOLUTION NIGHT on the 30th July 2010.

This project mainly allows clubs to showcase their particular field's timeline of development. Here are some pictures. :)

And yes, it was a rather rainy day, and a rather wet opening ceremony, but it went well all in all. The uniform units, which is the girls' brigade, red crescent society, and the scouts performed the guard of honour. Our guest of honour, Rotarian Andy Khoo inspected the lines, accompanied by our Principal, Mrs Vimala Mathews and the organizing chairperson of the event, Ong Kar Jin. The event was officiated by Rotarian Andy Khoo.

Oh, the prismatic colours of the balloons, it was a simple but awesome opening ceremony.

The clubs did their thing; the choir and ensemble performing, LIDRA with Short 'n' Sweet, librarians and their book sale, RCS with leech treatment, science and math club, Leos with martial arts, computer club with 3D, just to name a few, and food sales all over.

PBS Charity Dinner

The annual Pusat Bantuan Sentul Charity Dinner was held on 18^th July 2010, ironically, right after our 30-Hour Famine. Pusat Bantuan Sentul kindly invited our school’s Interact Club to attend their function.

The event was attended mainly by the incoming and outgoing board members of the Interact Club as well as our teacher advisors, Miss Teng and Mdm Norhayati. This function was held at the Sentul Convention Centre at 7.00 pm. The charity dinner was to raise funds for Pusat Bantuan Sentul as well as celebrating their 23^rd Anniversary.

It was really cool. There were performances, mainly bands and singing. There was an Indian dance too. The food was great, scrumptious Indian cuisine. Representatives of PBS also went around collecting donations, and they also held an auction for charity purposes.

After the hearty dinner, we left at around 9.30 to 10.00 pm.

During the Form Fours' Kids Carnival, the current board sat down to discuss the future administration of WMSKL Interact Club. We had a difficult decision to make and we needed to choose the new Board of Directors very carefully to ensure the success of the club in the coming year. Kids Carnival 2010

On the 3rd of July, in the year 2010, Wesley Methodist Interact Club held its annual Kids Carnival. The objective of the carnival is so that children who are considered less fortunate than us can come and have a day jam packed with fun. Kids from Pusat Bantuan Sentul, Praise Emmanuel Children's Home and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Shekina were present. Interactors arrived as early as 7 am to prepare for the carnival. The kids from Pusat Bantuan Sentul were escorted by a few of our Interactors from the centre itself.

When the kids arrived, we tried our best to make them feel as welcomed as possible. To lighten up the mood, we invited a clown who constantly cracked jokes and was super good at making balloon animals. Interactor Jia En also went around performing magic tricks to keep the children entertained. The children had more fun trying to expose the tricks than actually enjoying the tricks though.When all the kids came, they were registered and separated into different groups - Bananas in Pyjamas, Barney, Powerpuff Girls, Pokemon and the all time favourite Spongebob Squarepants. The children were taught how to sing the theme songs of their respective groups. The opening ceremony was pretty epic with interactors dropping lots of balloons from the top floor of the form 2/3 block. The kids were exhilarated at the sight of so many balloons.

Then, Interactors Jun Shern and Samantha Ng conducted the ice-breaking games, which were mainly played with songs. The children and the interactors had buckets of fun dancing, singing and laughing at each other when dancing to silly songs. When the "ice" between the kids melted, the station games begun.

The games included Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Limbo, Ring Toss, Folding Paper Planes and also Charades. The children were really involved in all the games and they all had a blast. After the station games, the children were gathered in the canteen to witness an amazing show put on by our very own talented school counselor, Mr Cephas. He blew the kids away with his awesome magic and balloon tricks. The highlight of the performance was when Mr Cephas introduced his puppet and literally filled the canteen with children's laughter with his terrific ventriloquism. Afterwards, the children washed their hands and lined up to get their food for lunch.
After having lunch, the children headed back to the basketball court for a creative session. In this session, a model is selected from each group and he or she has to be decorated with materials given. Examples of the materials included cardboard, a cap and tin foil among others. Each group cracked their heads trying to come up with a design that would ultimately win the contest. Then, each group showed off their models with a catwalk. They then stood on the podium and talked about their design.

After the creative session, presents were given to the group with the best teamwork, the group which won the overall games and the group which won the creative session. The children from groups that did not win anything had nothing to fret though, because party packs and colouring books drawn by Interactor Zhi Pei were given to each and every one of the children.

They say all good things come to an end. Unfortunately, this was an example of the statement. The children had to leave after having a fun-filled day. Although we were sad to part from the cute children, we were happy to see them leave with smiles on their faces.

When the children left, the interactors did not forget to clean the place up! Almost everybody automatically started picking up rubbish and in no time, the assembly ground was as clean as ever.
After that, the outgoing board of the Interact Club gathered all of us to tell us about a general knowledge quiz that will be held soon. Little did we know that they have prepared buckets of water and were going to splash us with them! Some alert interactors ran off before Kar Jin and friends came running with buckets of water and splashed them at almost every interactor. When President Zhi-Yang saw that the O.C. Chan Jun Shern was dry, he decided to chase him down and made sure he was dripping wet when he stopped running. Interactor Boon Chim also decided to take revenge by pouring a whole bottle of water on Anisha.

All in all, the interactors and the children both had two tonnes of fun (each one tonne). The event was considered a success even though there were some minor problems that occured. We will ensure the better quality of the future Kids Carnival.

The long awaited post- International Unterstanding Day 2010

On the 15th of April 2010, Wesley Methodist School Interact Club held their 36th International Understanding Day. 'Greece Lightning' was the theme chosen for this year and hence, all the Interactors of the school dressed up as Greeks. The event that had taken months of hard work and planning was finally here- held in the multipurpose hall of the school. It began at 3.30pm and ended around 5.30pm. Nearly 600 guests, including Interactors from other schools and WMSKL students, turned up to support our Interact Club.

The Guests of Honour, Rotarian Hardeep Singh and Rotarian Andy Khoo also took time out of their busy schedule to attend our IU Day. The event commenced after the arrival of the Guest of Honour. In an effort to lighten the mood and set the atmosphere, the board members put up an extraordinary presentation, druing which they were all airplane stewards and stewardesses.

Rotarian Hardeep Singh gave an inspiring talk, praising our Interactors for being the first club in the KL DiRaja district for holding an International Understanding Day this year. Then came the speech by IU Director Interactor Anisha Passcuran, thanking all those who helped to make IU day a success. Soon after, the Greek entertainment began with a hilarious sketch by the Interactors, directed and produced by Interactor Jonathan Lee and Interactor Dhivya Nair. The sketch told the story of how the Olympic Games came about and how the Greek gods came together to fight the evil gods. It was incredibly successful with all our guests.

After that, a group of Interactors performed their Pandora's Box dance story, depicting the mythical tale of Pandora, the Greek girl who unwittingly unleashed all evil into the world. It was a dance performance led by Interactor Esther Foo Wen Yen. The performance was magnificent, and full of drama.

After that, there was a very special duet performance, by Interactor Wei Shi Khai and Interactor Lau Yen June on vocals, Interactor Low Zhi-Yang on guitar and Interactor Ivan Yun on drums. They performed popular songs from the 'MAMMA MIA!' motion picture, like Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen.

The event came to a close with the souvenir presentation. Our guests were treated with Greek food at the school cafeteria.

The Interact Club would like to once again thank all those who turned up for our IU Day, making it one of our most successful events so far. We worked hard for months, and we genuinely hope you had fun and that you will continue to support us in the future. (:

WMS Cross-Country'10

On the 6th of February 2010, the Interact Club of WMS held it's annual Cross Country at Lake Gardens. The aim of this event is to raise funds that will be donated to several charities to help unfortunate kids. The event started off with the arrival of the students and the guest of honour, then a slight briefing for the students. After that, we sang the national anthem and the school song continued by a speech that was made by the principal and the guest of honour. Later, the students warmed up for the race and headed to the starting point! The under-15 category got flagged-off first, followed by the teachers, ex-students and parents category then, the under-18 category. After the race, everyone settled down as prizes were given out to the winners from each category.

All in all, it was AWESOME and we would like to thank everyone who joined and helped out for making it such a great success. We would especially like to give extra credit to the organizing chairperson, Jonathan Lee and his assistant, Giselle Soosay Nathan as well as our teacher advisors, Madam Norhayati and Miss Teng who put in all effort in making sure the event went on smoothly. The event went perfectly as planned and we raised a total of over RM62,000 that went out to several charities.

Form 4 Fellowship Project

Hi guys!

This is a short post about the fellowship project that was organized and participated by the interactors of Form 4 on the 31st of March. The aim of the project was to foster greater bonding and create a sense of togetherness amongst Form 4 interactors. We started the activities after school, at around 3.30pm. The activities that were conducted include cleaning toilets, labelling teacher's shelves, wrapping the canteen table for teachers with table cloth, repainting 'keep left' signs on staircases and repainting the class markings on the assembly ground. After the activities, we had some games which was conducted by Chan Jun Shern.

The project ended at around 6.00pm, everyone was exhausted after all the activities and games. At the end of the day, we got to know each other better as well as learning to work together as a team. I would like to thank teacher advisers Ms Teng and Mdm Norhayati as well as the board members of the interact club for your support and guidance to ensure that the project ran well.

36th Annual International Understanding Day 2010

The long-awaited (for me, that is) day has FINALLY arrived! We will be having our 36th International Understanding Day on Thursday, April 15th 2010 (mark those calendars!).

Cross Country Success and Upcoming Events!

Hello readers!

It's been a while since this blog has been updated so allow me update you on the endeavours of the WMS Interact Club!

For our annual Cross Country event, this year we managed to surpass our targetted donations of RM50,000 and managed to raise a grand total of over RM62,000! All in aid of various charitable organizations such as Childrens' Wish Society, P.S. the Children, Rumah Victory, Pusat Bantuan Sentul and several others. All participants had a great time at Lake Gardens that morning and all ran (or walked fast) for a great cause, all in the spirit of charity.

I would like to thank all participants on behalf of the Interact Club for your kind participation and support! We hope to surpass this year's achievement next year!

Next, we had our Form Four Fellowship Project, organized and participated by the probationary Interactors of Form Four. They helped beautify the school; by cleaning the school toilets, repainting the stair labels and many other activities. The project was aimed to create a sense of togetherness amongst the potential Interactors of Form Four, and it was a great success, despite the rainy weather.

This coming Thursday, April 15th, the Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School, Kuala Lumpur will be holding its annual International Understanding Day! The theme is Greece Lightning and there will be many entertaining performances and it promises to be a great day of fun and mingling! Details of the event are as follows:

Cross Country '10!

Greetings, everyone!

We, the Interact Club of WMS will be holding its annual Cross Country at the Lake Gardens on Saturday, 6th February 2010 in aid of various charities as well as in support of the Rotary mission to eradicate polio.

All parents of WMS students as well as ex-WMS students are invited to come and take part in this meaningful event. All participants will stand a chance to win prizes ranging from iPods to digital cameras to Sunway Theme Park tickets! All you have to bring along are your running shoes, some sunscreen lotion and your much needed charity!

In lieu with this event, we will also be selling Cross Country '10 T-shirts for just RM15 each!! All T-shirts are available in S, M, L, XL and XXL and come in two colours, black and yellow.

Pusat Bantuan Sentul Workshop

The last Interact Club project of year 2009 was a Pusat Bantuan Sentul workshop, held for all the kids that frequent the centre. The last time we had them all at our school was during the Kids' Carnival (which was, given that so much has happened since then, a VERY long time ago). This time we decided to do something entirely different- a motivational workshop centred around teamwork, achieving your dreams and most importantly, having fun while doing it.

And so, the PBS Workshop was born- an event that I hope will become an annual affair, simply because it was so much fun (for the kids AND Interactors). The workshop was held over two days, the first of the school holidays, the 23rd and 24th of November. Day 1 focused more on skills, personal development and teamwork whereas Day 2 focused on career, life goals and games.

FYI, Pusat Bantuan Sentul is a non-profit based centre that works with children from all ages, who usually come from difficult backgrounds. It is a place where the kids go for homework help, and WMS Interactors visit the centre twice a week to help them with their work. Next year, we'll be teaching them how to use the centre's newly-installed computer.

After the kids (aged from 8 to 16) arrived at our school, we got them registered and divided into groups, according to colours. After the opening ceremony, we played a few icebreakers and then started the arts and crafts session.

On Day 2, we talked to the kids about their dreams and goals. We were glad to see that all of them seem to know exactly what they want to achieve in their lives, no matter how difficult the circumstances. Another activity was to give each participant a piece of paper and a pencil, and ask them to draw exactly what they want in life. This activity unearthed interesting dreams- most of the boys drew men wearing suits and carrying briefcases with a sports car in the background, one boy drew a doctor, and a little girl drew a big house on an island.

Later on we took the kids to the Chapel for a movie screening.

Our teacher advisor, Cik Norhayati, brought along her 3 nephews and a niece. This is one of her nephews snuggling up to Interactor Jeremy.

After two long days, the Interactors and the participating kids were exhausted. During the closing ceremony, certificates of participation and gift bags were handed out to all the kids.

The pioneer PBS Workshop turned out to be a successful event that brought us much closer to the kids. They clearly had a lot of fun and we are glad to have been involved with this project. Thank you to all the Interactors who participated, worked tirelessly and made this event what it was.

41st District Interact Conference

On the 10th of December 2009, 9 Interactors went to Nilai University College, Negeri Sembilan to attend the 41st District Interact Conference. The conference was hosted by the Rotary Club of Klang and over 700 Interactors from 111 schools attended the event.

Low Zhi-Yang, Lau Yen June, Esther Foo, Anisha Passcuran, Lim Qing Wei, Jonathan Lee, Giselle Soosay Nathan, Ong Kar Jin, San Peggy and Teoh Pei Ji all attended the conference. We weren't sure what to expect as we had never been to such a large-scale Interact Conference before.

After registration, the girls headed off to their dorms and the boys went to theirs. We got changed into our conference T-shirts and went downstairs to the Multi-Purpose Hall, where most of the talks would be taking place throughout the conference.

The conference featured many talks from several professionally-trained, distinguished speakers. We later learned that none of them were paid to speak at the event.

Us Wesleyans were really excited to see Mr A.R. Peter, our former principal. We went up to him and were glad to find that he is still as amicable as ever. As Past President of the Rotary Club of Klang, Mr Peter (or Master Peter as he was addressed by Rotarian Anthony Dass) laid down the house rules. Later on he gave one of his trademark speeches on 'Patriotism towards the Country'.

After dinner the Rotaractors of ATC conducted a session that highlighted our constitutional rights and the rights of the child. After that, Rotarian Gerard Lazarus, an accomplished lawyer, gave a hilarious speech on 'Crime-Related Problems in School'. After supper we went to bed and had a good night's rest for tomorrow.

On Day 2 the official opening ceremony was held, where all the Interactors had to wear their official Interact uniform. The Wesleyans stood out as one of the few groups that were not clad in black, but purple! After the opening ceremony we got a chance to properly mingle and get to know the other Interactors, which was one of my favourite parts of the event.

After the opening ceremony, more talks were held- however, the most inspiring talk was conducted by Datin Paduka (Dr) Hajjah Sharifah Mazlina. She talked about her journey all over the South Pole and the North Pole, all for the love of her country. In preparation for her trip to the South Pole, she underwent rigorous training to build up her strength and endurance. After becoming the fastest person to cross the South Pole, she injured both her kneecaps yet refused to undergo surgery, as advised by her doctors. Instead she trained even harder, became a sharp-shooter and went to conquer the North Pole. She became the first Muslim to cross the South Pole and the first Asian woman to conquer both. After completing her North Pole mission, she said, "This is for all of us Malaysians; Malaysia boleh!"

After that there was a talk on how Interactors could use social media to their club's advantage- a move which we will be taking in the future. After that was formal night, where everyone got dressed up to watch performances. Everyone was having fun, but due to strict time constraints, we had to return to our dorms.

Day 3 was full of talks, some less engaging than others. There was also a huge treasure hunt. The highlight of Day 3 was the Talentime competition, where unfortunately the judges were very strict on time.

The next day Past President Rotarian Dr. Siva Ananthan spoke on 'The Leader in You', which was amusing and thought-provoking at the same time. Then there was a workshop, where all the Interactors sat in their respective groups and discussed several topics with their Rotarian representatives. Issues such as the problems faced by our Interact Club, conference pros and cons, and Rotary participation were all dealt with, and later on we were given 1 minute to present whatever we had discussed. A question-and-answer session followed. Certificates were given out to the Interactors, and we returned to our dorms to get things sorted out before making the journey home.

All in all, it was an eye-opening conference and we certainly learned new things that could help us as Interactors in the future.

Where have we been??

Hello all! We know we've been pretty quiet these last few months, but of course it's only because we've all been so busy. Since the 30-Hour Famine, we've had a host of other events and things going on. The Form 5 students retired to get ready for the SPM examination and the Form 4s got ready to carry on the legacy.

Our funding project, called the iFun Carnival was held on the Monday right after exam week in WMS, which was October 26th. We wanted to create an atmosphere that was totally different from the one hanging around school during the exams. The carnival succeeded in letting the students unwind and have fun, and it was also a great way to kick off the post-examination activities.

We had tons of cool attractions that day- including a dunking booth, Human Pacman, song dedications, face painting and body art, Human Foosball and an obstacle course. It was evident that everyone was having fun. All the Interactors were also given permission to wear sunglasses that day- really cool. T-shirts commemmorating the event were sold, and they were completely different from our usual black-and-white ones. This time, we decided to sell bright orange T-shirts.

The Carnival started at around 8.30 am and ended late, at about 2.30 pm. At the end of the day all the Interactors were exhausted, but it was all worth it.

30-hour Famine

The 30 hour famine was held on the 11th and 12th of July. All Interactors took part in this meaningful event. Other participants included students from all Forms. Before the famine, students who were taking part were to collect donations with a minimum of RM50 from their friends and families.

During the famine for 30 hours, students were not allowed to eat but drinks were given at certain time intervals. It means that we had to starve ourselves for 30 hours! Many activities were carried out throughout the famine. These activities were aimed to take hunger off the minds of participants and also to allow them to have a fun time.

After 30 hours of starvation, we were looking forward to the lunch in the afternoon the next day! We counted down together for the last 10 seconds...10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1.. Yay ! We had nuggets, mushroom soup and many other delicious food for lunch.

35th Annual Interact Club Installation

The annual installation was held on the 21st of August. The theme for this year's installation was 'Dare To Care'. We invited the Leo club of our school as well as Interactors from the other schools to witness this auspicious moment. Pictures of the Form 4s and form 5s interactors were put up for others to look at. Those were the pictures taken during the activities throughout the year. All who attended this installation were all given a door gift as remembrance.

The installation started off with speeches given by the guest of honour, Mr Francis Chan, the Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club KL Diraja. Then, our outgoing president, Catherine and incoming president, Zhi-Yang were also invited on stage to give us a few words. Catherine showed us some photos of the Form 5 Interactors during her speech. The outgoing members were all given a certificate for their service and contributions to the club . The Form 4 Interactors were then installed. The Form 4s had been looking forward to this day and were very excited about it.

Last but not least, there were performances by the fFrm 4s to entertain the guests and students there. A short, funny but meaningful sketch was carried out. The band performance by Jen Xian, Zhi-Yang, Ivan, Shi Kai was truly electrifying. The students even shouted for an encore!

Everyone enjoyed themselves during the installation. Farewell to the Form 5s interators and all the best in your upcoming SPM examinations ! We, the Form 4s will always work hard to prove that we are all capable leaders, just like them.

Farewell

On the 12th of August, a farewell party was held in KLCC for the Form 5 Interactors. We made a lot of different plans for this farewell and finally we settled on KLCC as the venue. We met some obstacles along the planning of this farewell but managed to tackle them. The following pictures will tell you the story. =)

Everyone gathered in the canteen and we left immediately after everyone was present. We went to KLCC by LRT. Everyone was buzzing as we were waiting for the train to come.

We started off with a game in which all the Form 5s were given some clues to find places and landmarks.

After we gave the Form 5s the last clue, they managed to find the last station. California Pizza Kitchen!! This was where we had our farewell party.

On the table, there were pizzas and photo frames with our Form 4 Interactors' photo. Everyone was busy finding their own seat as all the seats were arranged with names.

After the meal, we went to prepare the two cakes for the President and Vice President. Among the candles, some were magic relighting candles.

Nearing the end of the farewell, everyone raised their glasses for a toast to the President, Catherine, Vice-President, Jonathan, and all the Form 5 Interactors.

Everyone enjoyed the farewell party and it will always be a part of our memories. We had been working together through thick and thin for almost a year and we had learned many important values, given rise to friendships and working together. We promise the Form 5s that we will work hard next year to prove that we all are capable leaders, just like them. =)

Coco Fusion 2009

On the 19th of June, the Interact Club had its first ever Coco Fusion! The event was held to give students a better understanding of what every club and society in Wesley Methodist School does, and thus give them the opportunity to learn new things and find new interests. (:

Each club and society put on interesting displays, such as..

LEO's 'Are You Smarter than a Kindergartener?'

Computer Club's Wii games, which were a hit.

And the Choir and Ensemble, a real crowd-pleaser with several well-known songs that night, such as Mamma Mia and Viva la Vida.

It was evident during the event that everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, whether they were manning their own booths, walking around looking at the various displays, or even just sitting idly with friends and enjoying the evening.

We are proud of the event's success and thank everyone for putting effort into making this event possible. :)

Kids' Carnival 2009

On the 20th of June, the Interact Club had our annual Kids' Carnival. Children from several organisations came for the event and we are happy to report that everyone enjoyed themselves, Interactors included. :)

When the kids arrived, they were brought into the school, where we tried to make them feel as welcome as possible.

For icebreakers we danced the macarena and had several games. Then, the station games began!

The children were divided at random into several animal-themed groups, such as Dog, Snake, Cat, Wolf et cetera. They found each other by making their group animal's sound, such as a bark for Dog, and took part in the station games as their groups.

We went by the point system, and the group with the highest amount of points would be declared the winner at the end of the event.

There was a petting zoo too. :D

After about an hour of running around and having fun, we merged in the canteen for refreshments.

We also had a creative session, during which the children enjoyed doodling and drawing on white caps, which they got to take home. How often are you allowed to graffiti your clothes, right? :)

Sadly, the fun had to end eventually. Prizes were given for Most Creative Child, Best Group and All-round Best Child.

The children were clearly sad to leave as they seemed to have had a great day. Several cried upon departure, and we were sad to say goodbye too. :(

However, we saw the event as a great success and, although things could have been done to improve it, we learned lessons in organising it and had a wonderful experience.

Co-Co Fusion

The Co-co Night / Evening shirts just arrived today! >.< it made me realize how close our event was.

For those of you who do not know, Co-Co Fusion is basically, an event where we bring out the best of all the clubs and societies in our school - an event where they can display the specialties of their clubs for parents and friends alike to see.

As a preview:

-Lidra will be holding an event known as 'Short and Sweet', a collection of self-written, self-directed and self-casted plays spanning about 20 minutes each, in the Chapel.

-PBSM will be doing first-aid demonstrations

-Domestic Science Club will be having cooking demonstrations

-The Choir will be performing, too!

And of course, your faithful Interactors will be at hand, helping their own clubs to make this event a success as well! So please, do come and attend our unique event!

World Environment Day

As all of you know, World Environment Day was held on the 5th of June. The theme this year is Your Planet Needs You! Unite to Combat Climate Change. Here are some Daily do something Tips provided by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in conjunction of WED 2009, for everyone to start saving the world! Play your part by using less and acting more. Try to incorporate all of these tips into your life as a matter of routine. Get involved!

• Plant a tree!
• The easiest way to reduce your carbon footprint is by avoiding driving altogether. Power down and instead try biking, walking, carpooling, public transport or an occasional telecommute.
• Use washable mugs instead of non-biodegradable Styrofoam or plastic cups as an environmentally-friendly alternative.
• Use both sides of a paper.
• Save water. Don’t let the tap run.
• Use towels for drying your face and hands instead of tissues that are used and then thrown away. Hang your towels so that they can be reused.
• Recycle your newspaper after reading them.
• Don’t place lamps or TV sets near your air-conditioning thermostat as it senses heat from these appliances, which can cause the air-conditioner to run longer than necessary.
• When cooking, match the size of the pan to the size of the heating element to lower energy wastage.
• When you are feeling at your laziest, don’t throw clean clothes in the hamper to avoid hanging them up! Wear jeans more than once…
• When you wash, use only eco-friendly products in your home. It’s best for you and the environment! And did we mention plant a tree!

After a short discussion, Group 1 decided to take beautify the ground floor area whereas Group 2 opted to work on the balcony area. We were given around 3 to 4 weeks to complete the project. Although there was much to do, with our exams coming, nevertheless, we really enjoyed ourselves as we carried out this project.

Group 1's report:
Project Name: Interact-ing With Nature

We, members of Group 1 frequently had meetings during lunch breaks and after school hours to discuss, present and evaluate ideas. We eventually, mutually agreed on specific designs for the two tasked areas. Different members were tasked to get different supplies needed for the project.
We stayed back after school for a total of 8 times for 1 to 3 hours, enjoying ourselves as we beautified the school compound. Finally, we worked together to transform the areas in the school compound into the final result, of which we are very proud! =)

Group 2's report:
Project Name: Eco-Paradise

We often have meetings during lunch to discuss and plan our project. Everyone gave their ideas and we tried to combine all the ideas together and it turned out nicely. Our teacher advisor, Madam Norhayati accompanied us throughout the project and guided us. Finally, the end product -- our very own Mini Garden! =) This Eco-Paradise of ours may need much maintenance but we are prepared to uphold its beauty.

The Carbon Footprint Challenge

If you read the StarTwo today, you would notice that a lot of articles touch on the green issue. In 2004, Malaysia spewed 177 million tonnes of greenhouse gasses placing us at No.26 among the world's top 30 emitters.

Let's face it. Turning off our lights and fans for an hour during Earth Hour was just a tiny step towards clearing our carbon-conscience. It's time for us to step up and clear our carbon footprint!

Here's how you can help;
1. Switch off fans, lights and airconds that are not in use.
2. Switch off all electronics that are left on "Standby" mode.
3. Unplug computers at night and on weekends.
4. Reduce the use of air-conditioner by an hour each day.
5. Raise your air-conditioner temperature by 1C
6. Shorten your shower by 5 minutes.
7. For those of you who love shopping, say no to plastic bags whenever you buy things. Instead, use a reusable bag.
8. Recycle old mobile phones
9. Recycle glass, paper, card, plastic, cans in school and at home.
10. Carpool
11. Cycle or walk for trips under 2km.

Let us all take part in The Carbon Footprint Challenge- Reduce It!
